Lo difícil de un hotel no es entender a recepción — es encontrar tu propia frase a tiempo. Estos 20 chunks cubren desde la reserva hasta la salida.
El inglés de hotel tiene una forma particular: importa más lo que dices que lo que escuchas. Las frases de recepción son muy predecibles y, si no entiendes una, siempre hay una pantalla o un gesto. Pero cambiar de habitación, pedir salida tardía o avisar de que no hay agua caliente — todo eso empieza contigo hablando.
Los 20 chunks de abajo cubren toda la estancia: reservar y preguntar por disponibilidad, registrarte, algo que falla en la habitación, peticiones extra, salida y consigna de maletas. La lista es corta porque las situaciones de hotel son realmente pocas — con estos 20 sales de casi todas.

Cómo trabajar esta página
- 1Empieza por las frases para reportar problemas. Para reservar o registrarte puedes señalar una pantalla; para una ducha rota, no.
- 2Fíjate en marcos como `The [item] is not working`. El corchete es un hueco: cambia la palabra y tienes otra frase. Uno aprendido, diez entregadas.
- 3Practica la entonación, no solo las palabras.
Could I get a late check-out?con tono ascendente es una petición; plano suena a aviso, y la respuesta cambia.

Preguntas frecuentes
¿Cómo pido una salida tardía?
Could I get a late check-out? es la forma directa. Añade until 2 p.m. si quieres concretar la hora. La mayoría de hoteles lo deciden según la ocupación del día, así que mantenlo como petición y no como aviso — la entonación ascendente cuenta.

The thing in the bathroom isn't working más una foto en el móvil resuelve nueve de cada diez casos. El marco The [item] is not working de esta página admite something igual de bien — importa más reportar el problema que nombrar el objeto.
¿check in o check-in?
check in es el verbo (I'd like to check in); con guion, check-in, es el sustantivo (What time is check-in?). Hablando no se distingue — solo importa si escribes un correo al hotel.
¿Cómo pido habitación sin reserva?
Con Do you have any rooms available tonight? basta. Sigue con How much is it per night? para el precio. No hace falta preámbulo — en recepción, en inglés, se va al grano mucho antes de lo que se espera.
